Phil Buchanan is the Executive Chairman of the Board at Cannon Financial Institute. With extensive experience in wealth management, Phil has collaborated with major financial services firms across North America and their international subsidiaries. His roles have included speaker, trainer, consul-tant, and coach. Phil is a frequent keynote speaker at industry events, contributes to
industry publications, and is regularly interviewed by the media on topics related to wealth management.
With specialty focus in both organic growth and mergers & acquisitions, Phil Buchanan has successfully guided eleven acquisitions, including Retail RIAs, Trust Firms, and Family Offices. His expertise covers a wide range of areas, including Third-Party Management Implementation, CRM, Trust Accounting, Document Management, Wealth Aggregation, Insurance Programs, and Banking and Credit Pro-grams. Phil has a M.S.J. in Financial Services Compliance from Seton Hall Law and a B.S.A. in Economics from the University of Georgia.
Beyond his speaking engagements, Phil is a prolific writer for industry publications and frequently shares his insights with media outlets. With a natural entrepreneurial spirit, he has previously served as President of Argent Financial Group and in Board positions with Allen & Company and LibertyFi. He serves as the Non-Executive Chairman of Laurus Holdings in addition to three other Board roles.
